Sandy Castro, MS, LCAS-A, LCMHC

Sandy is a Bilingual Licensed Mental Health and Addictions Therapist serving mostly but not limited to, the Hispanic/Latino community and immigrants.

Sandy is originally from Mexico City, but has been living in North Carolina for almost 30 years. She has been in the professional field of mental health since 2007 and has had experience in counseling since 2013. Sandy attended Walden University where she received both her BS in Psychology in 2019 and her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021. She is now a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist — Associated, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

Sandy’s counseling approach integrates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family-Centered Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, allowing for a comprehensive treatment framework tailored to individual needs. Her areas of expertise encompass a wide spectrum of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, family dynamics, parenting issues, and grief/loss. Leveraging from her cultural background, Sandy consistently strives to cultivate cultural competence, fostering a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic environment that nurtures trust and facilitates meaningful change.

Sandy’s professional philosophy is reinforced by a commitment to respect, service, and professionalism, reflecting the same values she upholds in her personal life. Central to her practice is a profound belief in the primacy of client autonomy, ensuring that individuals retain agency over their treatment decisions while prioritizing their welfare when autonomy is compromised.

Online or in-person, sessions are available from 30 minutes to two hours. Specific fees are charged for each type of session. Reduced fee available upon agreement.

Family Therapy

Online or in-person. 

$100/hour | Get started

Payments are due in full at the time of service and can be made by cash, check, or credit/debit card. BC/BS is accepted.
